Description
Up for sale is an authentic UNRESTORED ANTIQUE LOUIS VUITTON TRUNK Serial #737615. Its age is approximately from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. Exterior Dimensions: Which includes considerations for handles & latches & bottom casters: 33" Length X 19" Width X 21" Height It is a bit smaller than most of the trunks that come up for sale or auction. Great coffee table size. The trunk's exterior is covered with the traditional LV MONOGRAM canvas on all sides including the bottom, and is in very good condition. It does have a small hole in the rear hinge area. [see photos] The wooden slats are in good shape, except for one missing rivet/tack on a front lower slat. All brass rivet/tacks are marked LOUIS VUITTON. [see photos] The all original latches & hinges are solid & work as they were intended. The 2 original metal handles are solid & easily support the trunk's weight, which is about 50lbs. empty. The trunk has 4 original metal barrel shaped casters on the bottom. The metal edging trim is intact, although it shows signs of use [some dings & buckling.] The interior has 3 very clean removable trays. On 1 tray some of the exterior edges show slight wear. The trunk has a slight mothball odor. No mold or mildew. For its age the interior is amazingly clean. No large stains as seen in so many of the trunks of this vintage that come up for sale or auction. The leather strap no longer extends far enough to reach the buckle.
